Guys,
I spoke to another Border Post official and he suggested that i drive uptp the nearest border and they would refuse my entry to Canada as i don't have a valid visa and i can turn around and come back to US and i can get a new I-94. Do you think it would be safe to do this ?
Any advices?
You will not get new I-94 for travel to Canada less than 30 days.
What visa status are you in? If you are on H1, your H1 renewal will have the new valid I-94.

Hello
I am on H1 and 3 months back i came to US.After one month i applied for SSN,but still didnt get that.
when i went to SS office for enquiry 1 week back, they told me that my immigration verification was not done yet. so i had to wait.
can anyone help me with this.
how many days will it took to complete the process??

It usually takes 8 weeks tops to complete (after all dig deeeeeeeep checks). Does your first & last name match on passport, 797 and I-94? - this is one of reasons for delay in issuing a SSN. My 2C

That is not SOP. that is recommendation of CIS ombudsman to USCIS about SOP changes and advance notice.

Optimistic: EB2 India will be current in November 2006
Pessimistic: EB2 India will slow down due to large number of cases during 2003-2005

I always wonder these ARAVAS deserve GC?
Because where ever they will make lot of fuss there and cause so many troubles to hosting country...
Srilanka they made a beautiful country as almost ash because of their perverted intensions..And Singapore they will never go with country's best interests...and Malaysia....
And even in India see the support to LTTE (Openly)
Also all most all these ARAVAs are blue collar cheap labor, I don�t know how a considerable number of Tamils getting h1b

As far as i know, it dosent matter if you are on EAD or H1b. You can open a bussiness as a investor. You can have profit of that business but you can not generate your payrole or you can not work for that particular business. I will recommend to assist immigration lawyer or CPA.

Unfortunately that's how it usually works - dependants' NC is cleared quickly, but the primary applicant's NC is not. Dependants cannot get approvals ahead of the primary applicant. So the whole family is forced to pay for EAD and AP extensions. Talk about generating revenue...

I am currently in the U.S on H1b for the past 4 years. My H1b is for a computer programmer. I work my day job in that capacity. My Labor certification in under process. I have also been auditioning as an actor for Commercials and Industrial Films. It looks like I may be cast in an industrial film. My question is : If I accept the part, will this violate the terms of my H1-b ? Also, if I am approved for an EAD down the road, can I use the EAD to do acting work on the side ? Could anyone please suggest me a few consulting companies who can sponsor H1B visa? I am trying to bring my friend who is in India working for an automotive OEM. He was in Michigan for a while and he went back to India and it�s been almost more than 7 years since he left but now he wants to come back to Michigan.
If anyone knows any consultants in Michigan would be perfect since I already have a job lined up (verbally) through my contacts but I am not successful finding an employer who can sponsor H1B for him.

Hi,
I am graduate student in Clinical Psychology. I am going to be working for a state employer during summer. This is mandatory for my program and I will receive 6 credits for it by the end of summer. However, due to some graduate school rules, I will have less than minimum credits to take during the Fall '10 and Spring '11 semesters. I was wondering if I could go ahead and work on CPT during summer (the employment is not paid), but register for those credits during Fall '10 and Spring '11 (breaking it up into 3 credits each) which will ensure my minimum registration.
Also, can I apply for CPT during a semester when I have taken minimum credits required and I am a TA (full 20 hours)?

You may as well ask uscis to ask for the remainder of the H1B period provided there is an employer who is willing to process your H1B. Remember, you will have to lose your current I485 processing and start all the way from scratch though you can recapture the priority date with the new GC process.

im currently living in NJ and my i-140 was approved.. since im on EB3 and my priority date is on 4/2008 i still have some time to wait in order for a visa to be eligible to me..
my main concern is : i would like to know if its possible for me to obtain a driver license with the approval notice i received from USCIS (i -797c Notice of action).. does my employer will need to fill out any forms for for that to happen ?? if so, what kind of forms :(
any help is appreciated..

I am on J1 visa and have received a home residency requirement waiver. Do the experts here know if I can apply for a J1 visa extension (after receiving the waiver)? I read somewhere that it may not be possible to do so.
Also, are there are any foreign travel restriction on a J-1 visa?

Getting a waiver implies that you want to change your status. So renewal may not be a good idea. I would talk to a lawyer about the implications.
