It was helpful to have a shortcut into their Mac development team. I tried to deal with the German support team - which I think is the same that also handles the Windows crowd - and I got the impression that Office for Mac issues are just a tiny blob on their screens.
I got them so far as to acknowledge that they can reproduce the bug in PowerPoint. However they then told me that they can not get through to the people in the US and that even if they could the developers would not listen to them anyway - go figure...

Thanks kainjow. That gives me an idea. I need to fly back to Chicago. There is this black hole period between 6 to 11 P.M. pacific where no flights leave for Chicago (because departures during that time put the landing time in Chicago when the airport there is closed for landing.) I need to leave before that, take the red-eye, or leave Saturday. If most of the stuff will be done by 2 or 3 P.M. then I can try for that last flight before the black hole sets in.

A few people have set up chat for MWSF in ichat. it is called: MWSF08. Simply go to file>Go to chatroom> MWSF08. All 7 of us in the room were wondering if MacRumors could lock this or announce it somehow.

Yeah, tell me about it (looks down at my Quad). But honestly, I think it will suck even more for Adobe, as they are really limiting themselves in the market that they can reach. Come on Adobe, it wouldn't be THAT hard to code according to Apple's Universal standards, would it?
Then again, they may be trying to go for the optimal performance possible. I blogged about this a while ago (http://web.mac.com/longofest/iWeb/Blog%20Corner/Tech%20Fest/09B771A2-EF7E-4BD7-8172-9CB5E15A06EE.html), and how Universal Binaries using the Accelerate framework may not always give you all the performance options available to a program.

My white iPhone 4 is definitely thicker than my wife's black iPhone 4.

With that I showed a lot more professionalism than all these "experts" with their fancy measuring tools making conclusions about ALL phones based on the ONE they happen to have. The tool they all lack is the ability to draw logical conclusions.

Maybe more "peace lovers" will demand to bring troops home?
Will the US work real hard to find another "prime evil target" to keep the "war mongers" interested?
Maybe Pakistanis will think we now really have little reason to keep bombing them and begin an uprising?
Will we shift focus to Iran?

From what I read, the Intel HD 3000 is actually better-performing on OS X than the Nvidia 320m. People are paranoying this Intel 3000 issue like it's the plague, while in reality they are basically the same in terms of performance.
I don't have the money, but if I was to buy a MBA, I'd surely buy it once the Sandy Bridge version came out.

The prices are mostly due "eco taxes", which make about 40% of the price.
To my knowledge, this is the cheapest gas station in town. I'll give you Shell tomorrow, I guess there is something on the "menu" beyond $10, as the prices are rising really fast recently.
Only good thing here is that the sunset in the picture looks nice.

Steve is an evangelist. Of course he was doing the talking, was talking too loud, and was doing the persuading.
All he wants from Google is to not be adverse to his goals.
His goals are both specific and fuzzy.
Steve is skinny. The turtleneck and the crossed legs are warming techniques. My son is skinny and he does the same thing. He needs to fly rockets at DeAnza College like Steve has. I opt for Steve to invite him.
Steve made a PUBLIC comment about Google about the "don't be evil" thing. Whatever they are talking about you can be sure it is Steve holding him to the fire on that promise.
You what the best part of that photo is? Both these guys felt like it was fine for them to sit outside a place and chat to begin with. That is the sort of CEO I want running a corporation.

I really hope the iPhone comes to T-Mobile USA. I am using an unofficially unlocked and jailbroken 1st generation iPhone on T-Mobile right now. The service has been wonderful.
AT&T is horrendous. I was a former customer, and they would overcharge me every month. It took approximately 3 calls every month, lasting at least 45 minutes each, to solve the problem.

Well, I formally switched today (my iBook arrived) - and I must say I am very impressed with the Mac. It feels like a quality build, and OS X feels better overall than Windows XP. (I think XP is a pretty good OS btw)
I went with the iBook because it was a pretty good value notebook, especially after recent price drops here in Europe. I don't think I qualify as a Mac zealot quite yet though... We'll see how the 'book holds up in a few weeks =P

I challenge both points, pedantically and pragmatically. Canada is no more a "democracy" than the US, though perhaps slightly less messed up. If it was, you would not be able to brazenly put forth the second assertion. In a real democracy, there are no winners. Debate results in compromise. Compromise leaves everyone disappointed but (usually) sanguine, because those other guys are also comparably disappointed.
The idea that we should have winners and losers is one of the biggest problems facing the US political system. The rollercoaster ride has been pushing the whole country apart from the inside. Failure is inevitable.
