Follow-to-join can be applied anytime after the filing of I-485 even after approval as long as Visa Number is available at the time of filing. Visa number's availability depends on the Department of State's Visa Bulletin.

As long as previous employer not revoked/Cancel your i-140 you are safe. You can port your priority date.

The Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) issued an August 20, 2009 press release, reporting a decline in offers of admission from U.S. graduate schools to prospective foreign students. This is the first decline in the rate of offers to foreign students since 2004.
While these significant reductions affected the overall decline in foreign student enrollment, the number of offers of admission to students from the People's Republic of China grew at a rate of 13 percent. The CGS press release indicates that this was the fourth year in a row of double-digit growth in the number of students from China offered admission to U.S. graduate schools.
With the up coming biggest education Expo in China (http://www.phdchina.org/english/index.shtml), the US is the country of Honour at this show. This is a clear sign that Chinese students are looking at the US as the main destination for studies and future opportunities.
There is a significant economic contribution made by foreign students in tuition and related expenditures, as well. Generally, a foreign student is required to pay tuition at the much higher out-of-state rate, even when attending a state school. The potential of Chinese students boosting the economy is significant and should not be ignored. Today I will be giving a presentation on immigration law along with my colleague, V. Thomas Langford, to the Air Force JAG serving at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. The Air Force JAG Corps are lawyers who provide legal advice to those serving in the Air Force.
Our training today will focus on the basics of immigration law. We will be covering family-based immigration law and outlining the procedures involved in petitioning for a family member to immigrate to the United States. We will also be talking about the Violence Against Women Act ("VAWA") and how an individual may self-petition for immigration status if he or she has been the victim of abuse or mental cruelty. Finally, we will discuss the naturalization laws as they apply to those serving in the military at a time of a conflict.
It seems that I always learn something while preparing for a presentation. While preparing for this one, I learned that staff from USCIS in Sacramento go to Travis Air Force Base twice a month to interview applicants for naturalization and administer the oath of citizenship on the same day. Kudos to USCIS for taking the time to do this. I've filed for the I-140 with EB-1 category in business, then additional evidence was requested and finally received a denial. I would like to know:
1. What are the chances to get approved after appealing?
2. If I were to appeal can I present new evidence?
3. After filing the appeal, how long should I expect to receive an answer from DC office?
4. If I ask for additional time before appealing, what are the chances that the additional time will be approved?
5. Is it better to appeal or to request a motion to reopen whenever I gather the new info to defend my case?
6. Do I have better chances if I skip both appealing and motion to reopen and focus on re filing a new case?

I was just wondering if they stall the 485 processing once they issue an RFE on EAD. Would they hold the case in abeyance or are these two mutually exclusive.
Btw, am not sure of the reason for RFE yet.

My GC was started by a company A with priority date of June 2004 in EB3. 140 was approved and filed 485 in July 2007 when all gates opened. In parallel, a friend of mine started my GC processing under EB2. That has a priority date of March'2005. Current date for EB2 is Feb.2005.
I got an offer from a different company (company B), which I would like to take if I have no issues with GC etc. I am thinking what should be my plan of action. I have the following options:
1. Join company B on contract to hire on EAD that I got from company A as an employee of my friend's company. Apply 485 when EB2 becomes current for March 2005. Hopefully I will get my GC in an year and I join company B.
2. Join company B on EAD (or H1) and ask them to re-start my GC process under EB2. Issue with this is it may take a long time for my GC as PERM is taking longer nowaways.
3. Continue with my present employer and get my GC in 2020!..
Request your advice on the best course of action for me. Appreciate your help.

i feel down recently and i scraped my hand on the concrete, and i am worried about finger printing which i have soon. My palm is scratched mostly and smy fingers on my left hand are also scratched, most of my right hand is okay but there are some scratches too.

May be they should take some load off TSC and pre-adjudicate the remaining 485 applications.
