Thanks LT. I have to be in india for a wedding in the second week of sept. I thought being valid is good enough. Where did you find the six month passport validity needed for travel. I can get it renewed while I'm in India but I'm not sure how long it will get it to be renewed in India. I'm planning to be in India for three weeks. Thanks again.

I hear you, I've been in this country for last almost 10 years now. Came here to do my MBA too. The journey that began on Aug 2, 1999 is still continuing as of Aug 19, 2008... Anyways, best of luck to both of us.

All of you who could not apply for your spouses for any reason and now facing retrogression:
Please Keep your spouse's application 100% ready with the exception of medical report before your date is officially current again and file it on the very first day that it is current.

Example:
Your PD = May 2005 EB2
July 2008 bulletin is released on 15th June 2008 making your PD current starting July 1st.
You have about 15 days to prepare your spouse's application and also get his/her medicals done.
Send it out on June 30th to be delivered on early morning July 1st 2008.
This is to make sure the dependent's application reaches there BEFORE any chance of your application getting approved.

If you miss it YOUR app is approved before your spouse's app is filed, you are in for some complications.....

Even though, i have everything ready, I will send my docs next week. No need to get into panic gear. If the dates retrogress, screw GC, if not well and good. Similar experience at Mumbai Consulate. Being a full time employee, and after showing all paystubs, employment letter , VO was not satisfied. 1/2 of the time , he was under impression that I was still working for a company, whose visa was stamped in 2008. :)
Another reason of frustration is they did not check all the documents I sent , which were mentioned in the green slip. Inspite of sending Research Document, I had got the reply saying that I did not send the Past, Current and Future Research Statement. So I resubmitted all the documents again on Dec 23rd,2010 . also added I am not working on any research topic presently or in near future . After that I did not hear back from consulate. So that means my case has been under processing?
Did anyone get the receipt of documents submission in response to Green Slip?
Please let me know

They could be a couple (husband and wife) sharing same computer with same IP Address and with same PD (cross-chargeability).
We are in democratic country. Why not ask them first? Give them due process.
They could be guys from the same company, thay could even be neighbors using the same wireless router, has he ever heard about NAT?

On May 01,2009 my wife's I-485 status changed online that they requested additinal evidence. I have not received RFE letter as of now and also I am touch base with my attorney, my attorney's office also not received RFE letter. Please advice me what steps I have to take in this regard.

My lawyer asked me to write my A# from my OPT card that I used in 1999-2000. According to him A# is assigend once for an individual and if you were assigned before you can continue to use that in future. Though I never used that in the past 7-8 years.
My wife got an OPT card last month and we used A# from that card for her dependent I-485 application

Regarding your status in the country, assuming that you acquired the green card before you married, a green card divorce does not change anything with your immigration status, but it may delay your application for full citizenship. My papers reached my lawyer only on 3rd. So, she didnt file at that time. Yesterday, she asked me if we can apply to become a part of lawsuit. I said OK. My file was sent to uscis yesterday by fedex. Since, I have spent 1000$ already on medical and other stuffs, just thought, why not give it a shot.

I read your question and was wandering what path did you choose.
I am currently under the same process and conflicted on weather to apply for an O-1 or an EB1-EA green card.
I am a film editor and my case is not a very strong one so I'm contemplating the pro's and con's of both options.
It will be great if you could tell me about your experience.

This too was brought to our attention from a regular member like you and me, without which this would not have come to our knowledge at all.
So some of the members have taken an initiative to reimburse Aman and other core IV team members with the expenses they have incurred so far towards the administrative costs of IV. Note that the time they have spent and the sufferings cannot be compensated. Let us do the least by atleast compensating the money. Please do not donate directly to IV funds.
There is a funding drive in this other thread towards reimbursing the administrative costs of IV.

I had same situation in 2009.. petition was approved in Mid 2008 and stamping was in feb 2009. No PIMS delay. I think if gap is more than few months , PIMS records are updated.

My Wife is on AOS (as a dependent with me as primary). She has recently applied for admission into Graduate School. Since she does not have her green card yet, she was being considered as an international application and was requested to submit her "visa documents". We sent in her I-485 Application, EAD and AP documents. Apparently, the school did not have these in their list of acceptable "documents for admission". The school insisted that we need to apply for my wife's F-1 and provide proof of financial support.
I was trying to convince the Director of Intl Affairs that my wife is in the country legally and while on AOS, she can attend school and work for any employer.
The school now comes back saying that they understand being able to work, but they are now asking if there is any law that explicitly states that an AOS applicant can go to school.
Could you please help?? Is there such a law? I personally went through F-1 to H1 to AOS myself and understand each of these statuses, but am looking for a way to convince that AOS can attend school while in the USA.
It's really frustrating to get denied because one is on AOS even though one qualifies for admission. Really alarming to see that not many out side the immigration community understand US visa laws.
