I know someone who went to Canada for the weekend and got the I-94 with the correct date on it.
Note that the airline (AA), on his way out of the US, was not willing to take his I-94 since he was going for less than 30 days. So he had to explain to them about his situation and they took it.
Also note that if you have an Indian passport, you will need a visa to go to Canada.
The other option to extend your I-94 is for your employer to refile I-129, and request for extension of stay. This can be done using premium processing.

I used AC21 and switched from company A to company B, 13 months back and started working with my EAD. In the mean time company A attorney sent H1B withdrawal notice to USCIS 11 months back as part of a normal procedure. Since then I have noticed 4 soft LUD's. I had one yesterday. Is this a common occurrence? Please advise.

We hear a lot about good credit.. but not a very good understanding of what it means
So is a score 670 considered to be good one? How much approx.. would be mortgage/month for $300K house. Ofcourse there are many factors but just to get a ball park free..

Hi Sunny1000...Thanks for your reply and I have moved down a day and going to get in on Jun24th, that will get me 3 days...Just to be safe. I have read other threads with immig.voice and most of them are saying technically they can get in on last /Final Day of the Validity.

3 year extension is availabe only if your PD is not current and 140 is approved. 1 year extension is only available when you have GC process started 365 day prior. You can go between 1 year and 3 year extensions (depending on PD situation).
I am not sure about the change of employer part...because your 3 year extension is tied to 140 which is tied to an employer...I am not sure if one is able to maintain H1B status if one invokes ac21 or use EAD in 8/9/10/11 th etc year. The new employer can always start the process (before hiring you) from begining..and have PERM and 140 approved and then you can transfer H1b to new employer. (because you are able to tie it to new approved 140). BTW...you will still save the priority date too..

I agree this crappy bill better not pass and is worse than retrogression. It is screwing everyone at the cost of giving amnesty to illegals. It is such a joke I would have never imagined that they would have the balls to do this, but I guess they are all politicians!!!
They'll probably start with what Senate passes. and make some minor amendments.
If it passes the house, conference will be piece of cake.
Our best hope is:
1. When senators return to the constituencies for the memorial day recess, they receive a LOT of negative feedback about CIR and enough number of senators change their minds and vote in -ve and bill fails to make out of the Senate. Likelihood: 10-20%.
2. House of reps votes on this CIR and defeats it. Likelihood: 40-60%.
I hope one way or another, this piece of crap fails and I happily get my GC in another 5-10 years. If it passes, I'll have to pack my bags. Amen.

Hi,
I am in the same situation.
I went to India to get married in sep 2008 and went for stamping for my wife and she got stamped for H4 untill 2011 feb. and we are back on to US. After reaching here I have my GC in my mail.
my PD is may 2006 I am waiting to add my wife to my GC I talked to the lawer and he said once the dates are current we can add her.

There is nothing like adding her to your GC.You have to apply for her 485 when your date is current again ..Nothing you can do till your dates are current again ..I guess you missed opprtunity in Sep 08 .

Nice job Anders. 2,3,4 and 5 are the best of these I believe. You're exactly right about practice. The more you shoot the better you will get, as you are demonstrating. Patience and alertness are the key as well. When you can't control what's happening, you have to anticipate, and be alert to catch in when it happens. Shooting from the penalty box allows from some great shots. Be alert in there though. The first time I did that a puck whistled by myhead. Thank goodness I ducked and moved my head. Water from the ice was literally on my ear and the puck hit behind me. I would have hit me square in the head.

Finally my EB-2 Sch-A Cat.II I-140 got approved on Oct-30. I got five emails today.
I submitted my I-140 as regular and then upgraded to Premium a week before on Oct-25.
thanks to all of you on this important forums who helped me lot in the process.
Now I will be enjoying ride of Retrogession Starting from Nov-1 in Sch-A cases.
Will Keep posted about I-485 as it develops.

I am hoping a short visit will not reset his 365 day exile. One more query I have is can he leave US for around 10 days immediately after applying for I485. Should he apply for AP along with I485 or should he wait once he comes back after his short trip on a valid L2? Will it be OK ?

Nope...once you have used your EAD you cannot go back to H1-B. AFAIK.

The receipt number will start either with SRC or LIN depending on whether it is Texas or Nebraska.

where do we get to read the receipt number from the back of the check ?..i see so many ppl write that they cud get the receipt number from the back of the check and with that the cud track the fate of receipt notice.The back of my cleared check has so many numbers but they are all overlapping and unreadable.Do any1 else has the same issue?
can any1 tell what is the window period b ween check clearance and recipt notice?
