I got soft LUD on my I-140 today (11/04)
My I-140 was approved few weeks ago @ TSC
Any clue what this soft LUD might be related to ?

I-1485/131/765 Sent to TSC on 08/03/07
(TSC -> VSC -> TSC). ND=10/12/07.
I-485 transferred to TSC on 10/17/07
EAD card ordered on 10/19 from VSC. Received 10/29
AP - RFE for clear copies of PP
No Finger Prints

I dont believe that EB2 labor takes more time to approve than that of EB3. My labor was approved in EB2 category in less than a week.
Yes it really IS impossible to determine which will move quicker.
and Also true that EB2 is NOT DETERMINED by EMPLOYEE's skill set.
EB2 is Determined by the nature of the job and if a master's IS TRULY required. If not your application will face an audit and you will have to re-apply under Eb3 all over again (meaning re-run the ads etc and wait for that extra month). Also Eb2 PERM Approvals on average take MUCH longer than eb3 even without any audit.

i am not a lawyer, so what i state here is from my personal experience. i have been to hawaii on an H1B 3 years ago. there was absolutely no problem anywhere. its like flying to any of the 48 mainland states. no one asked for passports anywhere ( i did not even carry it).
I ofcourse flew to hawaii, but i have taken cruises to mexico.
as long as the cruise ship does not touch a foreign port, you are good. check with the cruise company if they need a passport. they usually have info on what is required. before entering the ship, your papers are checked and if there is something needed for immigration when you return(like from mexico), they wont let you in until you show them the documents.
since you are boarding from US, visiting an US state, coming back to US, there should be no problem.

I have an LUD of 08/05/2007 on my 2006 approved I-140. I was hoping, like so many of us, that it meant CIS was entering my 485 in the system. But looking at the trend, it seems like CIS may only be gathering data on how many approved I-140 are currently in the system and make projections/plans for future work load etc.

Numbers USA cares about total number of immigrants per year.
If you move visa numbers from EB1, EB2 and EB3 to EB5 with fancy tactics like hard country quota(What Specter and Frist bills are doing), they dont really care.
They will be happy if the GRAND TOTAL of all greencards per year is brought down from number X to number Y. The grand total is a total of all Greencards: Family Based, Employment based, Diversity, Refugee etc.

IV is going full throttle despite all these depressing Immigration tactics being played out in Washington. IV is the beacon, to me atleast. Thanks guys for being so proactive and professional, not withstanding your regular jobs.
Pls see the link below. Even BIll Gates is asking for increase in H1 and not in Green cards (Last time he asked for GCs too) Every one wants cheap labor. They know people will wait for GC for 10 years. I guess creating a second class wannabe GCs is good for the industry.

Didnt see the edits. The first image you took is the best
I tend to agree, the first B&W one is the best in terms of composition. The new ones are not as "calm" somehow. I thought getting the railing to go all the way to the top corner would be better, but actually I think it is distracting. Interesting, maybe I learned something here. :p
