Do this. Check out OWC or Newegg.
Ok, so lets say I go with 3rd party memory. If I have an unrelated problem with the MBP, would I need to put the original memory back in before taking it in for service?
I'm new to the whole Mac thing. Thanks.

Newb question - what do I do with the wallpapers I download? Do I need to put them in a particular folder? Can I create a "wallpaper" folder in my documents or images folder?
Right now I have a few from last night just sitting in my docs folder, but when I started the MBP this morning it went back to the default wallpaper (purplish space shot)...?

reebzor: Given that I can't have wiring running around to the speakers (that need to be on opposite ends of the room), unfortunately this won't work.
waw74: It sounds like airplay speakers would be the best bet for ease of setup (in theory). The ihome option looks really nice - what a bummer they aren't available yet. Looks like the only AirPlay speaker available now is the Zeppelin Air ($600 apiece, so $1200 for a pair...wow). I'm a bit confused why it has a dock though, since it seems the reason for buying one would be to use airplay, but maybe I am missing the point.
Sounds like Airport Express would be the least expensive option. I didn't know I can make an Express a "base" without having internet access. So to make sure i understand ... I would buy 2 Airport Expresses. I would connect my MBP to one AirPort Express (no internet connection needed), and then have the AirPort Express create a wireless network, which I could then connect the second AirPort Express to using my MBP. The just plug speakers in the Expresses on opposite sides of the room, and I'll be good to go, correct?
Thanks-

Good thing you reminded me about the mall opening time, I was thinking we would be able to line up outside but since my local Apple Store is in a mall we will only be able to start lining up once the mall opens, right?
my mall has a 24 hour parking garage so the mall is open 24 hours- though the stores arent..

Amoeba is an awful place to buy used CDs - any location.
It's fine for vinyl and even new CDs releases, but the selection and prices are superior at any of the online places mentioned above - eBay, Amazon, Half.com and even SecondSpin.
Yeah, Amoeba's used CD quality is quite sketchy. SecondSpin is decent or Rasputin.

Edit for comparison's sake to current desktop tech:
Used the PPD calc here: http://linuxforge.net/bonuscalc2.php
i7-2600k @ 4.4ghz
p6060
TPF: ~2 min 5 sec
PPD: 31026
Then, later:
i7-2600k @ 4.5ghz
p6900 (core a5)
TPF: ~26 min 0 sec
PPD: 46454
Very very happy with this new machine. I've name it Atlas. Seemed fitting.

Yeah I am pretty sure it will work with the iPhone 4 because that is what it is being tested on right now. Supposed to be announced in June also.

Actually those bags wouldn't look half-bad if they didn't have the spymac logo plastered everywhere. Too bad, I'm just using a sleeve and backpack for my ibook...
