There should not be any issue for applying with only 2 months left. If you wait to get the next approval notice and go for stamping closer to the starting date of your next year of H1b you could get stamp for the next period too.
If there is 2 months or above left on the current extension then they will not give a visa including the new approval period. They will give only for the 2 months. So perferably go closer to the begining of the next period along with the new aproval notice (if you want to travel freely for the next period too)

I am applying for a green card and my lawyer sent me a case number starting with an A and in the format : A-#####-##### for my PERM.
I tried http://pds.pbls.doleta.gov/ but it does not accept case numbers starting with "A".
Can you please tell me where I can go to look at the status of this application?
This web site was being used to check cases from Philly and Dallas backlog centers ..read carefully
"The backlog public disclosure system only accepts Case Numbers beginning with either a D or P. Please enter the case number with all dashes. Where the # represents a number

I am on H1b and work for a desi consultancy company. My project with a client ended some time ago and due to bad market, I have been so far, unable to get onto another project. Now my employer is asking me to go back to my country for some time as I dont have a project in hand. I am worried that this may result in canceling of my H1b visa. However, employer is trying to assure me that he won't cancel it. I am wondering has anybody (somebody you know) been in this kind of situation. FWIW, I do have an american undergrad degree and have been living here legally and lawfully for past nine years.

Washington DC has declared Sept 18 as car-free day encouraging commuters to leave car at home. For details see link below:

Normal daily parking is $12 to $16 within 1/2 mile of Washington Monument (familiar vertical landmark). Never-the-less, if possible, Metro rail is the hassle-free choice.
